Social Media & Fundraising Social media is changing our world. We are spending more and more time online at a rate that is alarming to some, while others see it as an amazing opportunity to reach people that they could never reach so easily. With a little creativity, you can connect with the masses, sell your products or help your cause.
Kill The Spill is a website that has effectively used Twitter to raise over $16,000 towards the Gulf oil spill and while that may seem like a drop in the 'oil' bucket, it's a great start on this new medium, and this is only the beginning. Things like this on Twitter spread faster than gossip from a group of high school girls! It's easy to see how social media can make a huge impact on causes.
Check out Kill The Spill Now you can pick your ads The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Google plans to introduce cutting edge "skippable" ads on YouTube later this year. As users view videos, they will actually be able to skip past the ads they aren't interested in - and advertisers won't be charged for ads that are skipped. What this does to the playing field is that it drives advertisers to create ads that are interesting, exciting and attention grabbing. In longer videos, YouTube will actually give users a choice of ads they want to see. Stay tuned to see where Google is going to take online advertising next.

Shares have diminished to just 18 cents. Blockbuster has already started to introduce movie rentals in kiosks and you can expect to see more as time goes on. Read more here |
